WiKD LiVE: Band Booking & Live Music Platform

The Challenge
Canada's independent live music industry had a fundamental infrastructure problem. Unsigned artists and independent venues were connecting over Instagram DMs, cold emails, and word of mouth. There was no dedicated platform.
When bookings finally happened, ticketing went through Eventbrite — which charged 15–20% commission on every ticket sold. For a venue doing $10,000 in ticket sales, that's $1,500–$2,000 disappearing to a platform that had zero investment in Canadian live music.
Artists had no profile, no reputation system, no easy way to showcase their draw or experience. Venues had no way to post booking needs, screen applicants, or manage the back-and-forth efficiently. The entire industry was running on duct tape.
The Solution
Done Right built WiKD LiVE — a full two-sided marketplace on Base44. The platform has two distinct user experiences: one for artists (profile, portfolio, applications) and one for venues (booking needs, applicant management, event creation).
The critical innovation was direct Stripe integration for ticketing. Instead of routing through Eventbrite, WiKD LiVE processes tickets at Stripe's 2.9% rate — a fraction of Eventbrite's 15–20%. On a $10,000 event, that's $290 in fees vs $1,500–$2,000.
We also built a door-scanning system using QR codes — so venues could check tickets at the door from any smartphone without additional hardware.
What We Built
The Outcome
WiKD LiVE launched in 4 weeks. Their first ticketed event moved $8,000 in ticket sales — paying $240 in Stripe fees vs the $1,600 Eventbrite would have charged on the same volume. That's an 86% reduction in ticketing fees on the first event alone.
In the first 60 days post-launch, 200+ musicians created profiles and connected with venues. Three artists who had zero bookings before WiKD LiVE were playing paying gigs within 30 days of joining the platform.
The subscription revenue model means WiKD LiVE generates recurring revenue from day one — not just ticketing commissions.
