Canada's private vehicle market — Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace, AutoTrader private listings — processes billions of dollars in transactions every year with almost no trust infrastructure. Sellers have no way to credibly prove their vehicle's condition. Buyers have no way to verify it without hiring a mechanic or paying $40–$80 for a Carfax report that only covers title history, not actual physical condition.
The result: serious buyers don't show up, or show up and lowball because they can't verify anything. Sellers with genuinely good vehicles lose deals to uncertainty. The private market is full of friction that benefits nobody except the platforms collecting listing fees.
Existing solutions were either too expensive (dealer-tier inspection tools), too slow (booking a physical pre-purchase inspection takes days and costs $150+), or too narrow (Carfax tells you about accidents on record — not about the current condition of the brakes, tires, or whether that check engine light just got cleared).
The opportunity: a mobile-first platform where sellers do their own guided inspection with AI verification — producing a shareable trust report that travels with the listing and gives buyers genuine confidence to commit.

Done Right built TrustDrive — a platform where sellers complete a structured, photo-documented vehicle inspection guided by the app. The seller works through a checklist (exterior condition, tires, interior, engine bay, odometer, VIN) while the app prompts specific photos at each step.
GPT-4o Vision analyzes every uploaded photo against the inspection category. It flags concerns — tire wear patterns that suggest alignment issues, visible rust around wheel wells, aftermarket wiring in the engine bay — and adds them to the report with a confidence score. Sellers can't fake a clean report: the AI catches obvious manipulation and flags it.
Once complete, the inspection generates a shareable TrustDrive report with a unique QR code. The seller adds the QR code to their listing. Buyers scan it and see the full inspection — photos, AI assessment, flagged concerns, and a plain-English summary — before they even message the seller. More serious first contact, fewer wasted showings.
The business model is pay-per-report for sellers (not a subscription), keeping the barrier low for one-time private sales. Done Right built the Stripe checkout into the inspection flow — sellers pay only when they're ready to generate and share their report.

Inspection Flow & AI Vision Pipeline
Built the guided inspection checklist and photo upload system. Integrated GPT-4o Vision for per-photo analysis. The core AI inspection pipeline was functional end-to-end within 5 days — seller uploads a tire photo, AI returns a condition assessment.
Report Generation & QR Sharing
Built the report generation engine — aggregating AI assessments into a structured, shareable document. Generated unique QR codes per report. Built the public report view (no login required for buyers scanning a QR). Added Stripe pay-per-report checkout.
VIN Lookup, Dashboard & Launch
Integrated VIN lookup for title history cross-reference. Built the seller dashboard with report history. Full mobile testing on iOS and Android. Beta sellers onboarded and first paid reports generated.
